AN APPOINTMENT IS NECESSARY TO SURRENDER A PET
Making the decision to rehome a pet can be a difficult one and there are many reasons a family feels they can no longer care for a beloved pet. We strive, first and foremost, to be a resource for our community and to provide solutions for these reasons. Please see call the shelter for helpful tips and possible solutions to common issues many pet families may face. If these resources do not provide a solution for your family, please consider rehoming your pet through the Home to Home program or contact us to learn more about our intake process. In order to reduce stress on pets currently in our care and those coming into the shelter the Tobacco Valley Animal Shelter schedules appointments for pet surrenders. This allows us to better manage our resources, including appropriate, enriched housing and daily human attention to the physical and emotional needs of the pets in our care.  Please contact the shelter at (406)889-5457 for more information about our intake process.

Home to Home

Home To Home

Home to Home gives people who can no longer keep their pets the opportunity to find new, loving homes without having to drop pets off at the shelter - pets go from one home into another. Visit our Adoption Page to view available Home to Home pets.

BENEFITS OF HOME TO HOME

  • Reduces stress on animals by keeping them out of the shelter.

  • Leaves more shelter resources available to animals with no other options - stray, abandoned or suffering from neglect.

  • Gives potential new owners a chance to learn more about the animals directly from the current owner.

  • Provides the current owner the ability to successfully match their pet with a new family.
